Check the load chain, visibly.

Convert user-supplied wind and snow parameters into transparent preliminary pressures and tributary forces. No automatic hazard lookup and no member or foundation sizing.

Project inputs

Defaults are examples, not recommendations. Replace them with traceable project assumptions.

Use the speed definition required by the selected code.
Area assigned to the checked support or connection.
Enter the code-derived value for height and exposure.
Do not assume 1.0 on ridges or escarpments.
Confirm applicability under the selected code.
A user-supplied screening coefficient.
Use the governing magnitude for position and tilt.
Obtain from the governing local source.
User-confirmed code factor.

Preliminary decision support only. Confirm inputs, governing standards and final conclusions with the responsible qualified professional before design, procurement or construction.

Method and assumptions

The wind side starts with SI velocity pressure q = 0.613V², then applies the entered exposure, topographic and directionality factors. Indicative surface pressure is qh × G × |Cn|. The snow side uses the familiar screening chain pf = 0.7 Ce Ct Is pg, followed by the entered slope factor.

  • Every coefficient is visible and user-controlled.
  • Pressure multiplied by tributary area returns force in kN.
  • The tool does not look up a site hazard value.
