Editorial Policy & Research Method

How PVRack turns public technical evidence into educational guidance—and where readers must verify decisions independently.

Scope and identity

PVRack publishes educational material and preliminary decision-support tools about solar mounting. It does not currently provide supplier matching, product quotations, licensed engineering, product certification, permit approval or construction supervision.

Research process

  1. Define the project decision or technical question the page should answer.
  2. Prefer primary sources: adopted codes, standards bodies, government guidance, certification records and current manufacturer documentation.
  3. Separate general engineering principles from product-specific values and local requirements.
  4. Label assumptions, uncertainty, source dates and professional-review requirements where they affect safe use.
  5. Revise or remove claims that cannot be supported at the required level.

AI-assisted work

AI may assist with research organization, drafting, summarization, formatting and quality checks. AI output is not treated as evidence. A page should rely on the linked source material and clearly identified calculations, not on the fact that text was generated fluently.

Unless a page names a qualified reviewer and the exact review scope, readers must not interpret publication as professional engineering review.

Technical and tool limitations

Values entered into calculators are controlled by the user. Results are preliminary screening outputs and may omit site-specific load combinations, member properties, connection behavior, foundation tests, manufacturer restrictions and jurisdictional requirements. A result marked acceptable is not a construction approval.

Sources, updates and corrections

Where a claim depends on a code edition, certification or product document, readers should open the source and confirm that it remains current. PVRack may update, qualify or remove content when better evidence becomes available.

To report an error, send the page URL, disputed statement and supporting source through the contact page. Corrections are evaluated on evidence, not commercial affiliation.

Commercial independence

PVRack currently has no supplier or engineering-partner network connected to the website. A manufacturer document, video or external link is included for context and does not by itself constitute endorsement, verification or a commercial relationship.
